  • Birds make their homes in something called nests. They lay eggs in the nests. The nests are where birds live and take care of their babies. If a bird is going to have babies,it is important to keep them in a safe place. The nests are safe. When the babies are in the eggs, the mother bird needs to sit on the eggs. This keeps the birds warm until they are ready to be born. Think of a nest as your house.Your house keeps you safe and warm. When it rains, you will be dry in your house and you will be safe from most danger.Nests are the same to birds as houses are to people. But nests are a little different because they are able to be anywhere.A house is usually in a street but a nest can be in a tree,or a wall,on the ground,on a rock,or even on a mountain. Birds use things around them in nature to make their homes.Birds might use grass, twigs(细枝)and sticks for their nests. They can also use leaves, wool and cotton to build their homes.Birds need to make sure their nests are strong enough to resist any kind of weather and that they are comfortable and warm inside.

ATo show us how to build nests.

BTo show us the importance of houses.
